Everything You Need To Know About GrantMe's Editing Services

You are probably looking at this article thinking "What haven't they told me about GrantMe's editing services?" Well, this article will cover some trade secrets only a true GrantMe student would know 🤫.

Can editors edit my school assignments?

While editors would love to edit your assignments to give you that competitive advantage over your classmates, you don't need it. You know the intricacies of your course best.

Our editors, on the other hand, know how to help you frame your story to selection committees. So, they only edit:

  • Admissions essays
  • Scholarship essays
  • Resumes
  • Cover Letters

What if the scholarship is asking for a video?

Awesome! Send your script to our editors for a review!

They can help you perfect your script before you show off those video editing skills 😎

What stage should my essay be at when I submit it for editing?

Don't overthink it! Our editors are here to help you. Try to answer the essay prompt to the best of your abilities and ensure your essay has the following elements:

  1. A strong hook
  2. STAR structure (where applicable)
  3. Powerful volunteer examples
  4. Elevated diction
  5. Direct and concise writing
  6. Connecting your impact

Then send your essay in for editing! If you are struggling to add these elements on, don't sweat it! Check out our powerful essay writing toolkit:

How many revisions do I need?

Depending on the essay, you may need between 1-3 edits. The editing team will let you know if you should resubmit your essay for another edit in your completion score.

After an edit, you can make any changes you wish and then resubmit your essay through the app.

So, plan ahead! Try to submit your first draft at least 2 weeks before the deadline 😅

How do I submit essays?

Through the submissions page on the webapp! We walk you through all of the steps in this article.

Where can I find my edited essays?

All of your submissions can be found on your submissions page:

How long do I have to wait for my edits?

A little impatient are we? 🙈

Patience, young grasshopper.

"Patience is when you're supposed to be mad, but you choose to understand."- Buddha

Our editing team aims to review your essay within 24 hours of submission. You may notice a slight delay during some peak deadlines. But, don't worry, as soon as we notice that we are approaching full capacity, we will give you a heads up if it will take longer than 24 hours.

We highly recommend getting ahead and submitting your essay at least 2 weeks before the deadline.

I just added a scholarship, but cannot seem to find it when I try to submit my essay

Oh no- That is no bueno! 😔

No worries! We can still edit your scholarship essay! Here are the steps you need to follow:

  • Create a google document
  • Ensure it allows anyone with the link to edit
  • Submit it under the "other" submission page

Our editors will review like any other essay! 🤗

Do I have a limit on how many times I can resubmit my essay for editing?

That depends on your program and subscription. If you are an academy student, you are allowed to have 10 edits per month.

If you are on a subscription, here are the number of allowable edits per month:
Information Monthly - No edits
Support & Consulting Monthly - 5 edits

On our legacy SMAPP Plans:
SMAPP Monthly & Annual - 4 edits per month
Academy Monthly - 5 edits per month

The number of edits includes initial submissions and subsequent submissions from previously edited essays. Basically, anything you submitted is counted!

Reach out to our team at support@grantme.ca for questions.

I don't understand the suggestions, help!

Anytime! Your best option: leave a comment or note on the document for your editor. Then resubmit your essay for another revision.

If you still need help, reach out to us on live chat and we can set you up on a 1-1 call with one of our Student Account Managers.

What is a completion metric?

Our editors use the completion metric to identify how close your essay is ready to submit! You can typically find it at the bottom of your document.

You can find more information about our completion metric here.
