What is scholarship tunnel vision?
When a student’s expectations for scholarship dollars are not matched by an accurate expectation of the effort and skills necessary to win those scholarship dollars. Students get obsessed about the dollars (the outcome) without doing the work (the process).
When a student is outcome focussed instead of process focussed, they end up getting discouraged. When they don’t receive immediate results, because they don't understand the Scholarship Payback Period, they sometimes stop applying. This is the number one cause of students winning scholarships - not availability of funds.
We’re not up against scholarship dollars or student debt. We’re up against Scholarship Tunnel Vision.
The solution? Stay focussed on executing the North Star Cycle.
