Internship vs Jobs

Internship vs part-time job

An internship needs to include a learning objective. Generally, a student seeks opportunities in the industry they are interested in with the main purpose of learning about the job or market through on-the-job experience rather than learning about it in the classroom.

On the other hand, a part-time job is less involved with creating learning objectives for the student. This does not mean that you cannot use the experience you get from a part-time job and apply it to your future aspirations! In fact, finding those connections can help you excel!

Where can I find internships or a part-time job?

There are a few places you can start with:

  1. Your post-secondary school's website
  2. Your network. Ask around!
  3. Online
    • Indeed
    • Government of Canada
    • LinkedIn
    • Tutoring Services
    • Your City's website

  4. Outreach. Reach out to a company you love and see if they have any opportunities!
